Wheels for V6 Highline

Hi All,

counting down through the 12-16 (8 to go!!!) week delivery for my Passat Highline and thinking about wheels...the factory ones are boring and VW want big money for their 2 options. Any suggestions for suppliers in the Brisbane area would be great.

Tempe sell cheap rubbish with even cheaper tyres and redrill rims to fit your car.

You only have to look at their "Celebrity Rides" Gallary to see the sort of people that purchase from there.

Plenty of places to get good wheels and decent tyres, Tempe Tyres is not one of them.

Well I guess that puts me in my place.

Some of the wheel brands they sell my be of dubious quality but there's nothing rubbishy about Lenso or even Zenetti for that matter.
They also sell Michelin, Pirelli and Falken tyres. I wouldn't consider these cheap tyres. Even Hankook aren't exactly rubbish.

Like most Wheel and tyre joints, they sell both "cheap and rubbishy", as you put it, as well as higher quality gear.

I agree with Autopia on Tempe Tyres. They are great value for money and most people don't care about quality. However they do sell some quality brands and will fit some of the best tyres on the market if you ask them. You just wont get their website package price is all.

I have bough a set from them - no issues whatsoever!

tempe sell rims for ppl with a budget! ur not gonna pay $2k for the best lightweigh rims..

Nothing rubbish about Tempe Tyres, dealt with them many times, they have good and bad quality stuff depending on ur budget. I dont know what u have against them.

Very happy with my 19"s.

Word of caution though - the factory wheels are PERFECTLY balanced. The thing is smooth as silk, the wheel is solid as a rock, and the ride is vault-like. I have had trouble getting my aftermarket wheels balanced to the same level of perfection. Whilst not unacceptable, the Advanti 19"s don't roll as perfectly as the factory 17's or 18"s.

Its all a compromise though. I am more than happy with the awesome handling and looks of the 19"s. The slightly annoying wheel imbalance is worth it.

thanks for that. R u happy with the car? I have another 10 weeks to wait...i have never had to wait more than a couple of weeks for a car. Good news is that it SHOULD be the 10 model....

Love the car. Had a Liberty B4 previously and the passat beats it in every respect except top end grunt (i do miss that push in the back when the second turbo kicked in!).

Only minor complaints in the 2.5 years of ownership - creaks in the dashboard facia being the major one. Make sure you get any dashboard (or any cabin noise) creaks fixed ASAP, as they will start refusing to after 12mths.

they can't refuse after 12 months if the car has a 3 year warranty then it's warranted against faults for 3 years.
