    You can trust the article on running an engine in. I've run three brand new cars off the showroom floor that way (and one 1000cc motorbike) and they all turned into perfect engines. Maximum power, nil mechanical hassles. My last three cars have had higher than 'normal' dyno readings, STOCK, after their 5000km service.

    This brings me to my next point - oil changes.

    I would recommend changing your oil every 1000km for the first 5000km, then every 5000km after that. Till you get rid of the car. Change it regularly during the 'run in', you don't want that gunk flowing through your car. Every 5000km thereafter to maintain health. I'm not a mechanic. I just know this works from experience.
