Cheers all. Picked mine up yesterday and all was good. Tank was basically full which was great. They also took us for a quick spin and demonstrated the Park Assist. So cool! My wife and I were ecstatic and loved the leather seats. Aahh. Everything was according to our spec and all things seem to be working so far. Went for a wheel alignment straight away and they found the fronts to be out by 3mm, which is enough to cause a fair bit of bad and uneven wear. So that was worthwhile. $66 from Bob Janes Prospect for front and rear.

The 5 month wait was due to them not having any stock in Oz based on our specs. It had to be built for us and delivered. So a couple of months for building (they have to schedule it), a couple of months on a ship and then all the stuff that happens in Oz. It has been a very long wait, but it has been worth it. It's a MY09 125 TDI wagon in white, not an R36, but I love it just the same. Will post some pics up soon. Hopefully get the camera out this weekend. If we're not too busy playing with the car!

Just in from the Drive home from Delivery...

                A B S O L U T E L Y A W E S O M E !!!!

Will take some pics tomorrow (given its now dark) thanks for all the good wishes, handover was really professional. Only slight fault found, (picked up by the dealer and not me) was a door adjustment that needs to happen on the passenger front door. They adjusted it slightly on the spot but insisted on a couple of hours back with to make it perfect.

We were saying on the way to pick it up that we will miss the burble of the V8 on the Monaro however you are all correct, the exhaust note and pop is something i will not tire of in a long long time. No loss at all!!!

Picking my R36 up on Monday. After 5 long mths I just can't wait to get behind the wheel of this beauty!!!! Already booked in for Kufatec Bluetooth on Tuesday and window tint on Wednesday. Is it worthwhile getting a wheel alignment or should it be done by dealer prior to delivery??

I had a wheel alignment done an hour after I picked it up. Front was out by 3mm, enough to cause significant uneven and bad wear of the tyres according to the technician. Had the wheel alignment done at Bob Janes, cost me $66. I'm very tempted to go back to the dealer and ask for this to be paid for by them.

Other than that, love it love it love it. Planned to take some photos today, but it rained yesterday and the car now needs a wash! Oh wells, will do it one day.

Too all new Passat owners make sure you get the VW Umbrella that fits in the drivers door (Brilliant), We took delivery of our Passat Nov 06 & only took delivery of the Umbrella 3 weeks ago yes you read it right! Nearly 3 years, I had a very poor delivery from the old Rockhampton VW dealer TAG.
Anyhow have found a better dealer in Brisbane for the purchase of the Mk6 Golf.
The Wife Loves the Passat, she hides the key so I can't drive it.
I tried to talk her into a R36 wagon but didn't like the Sunroof in the White, she gets to pick the Colour, anyhow no R36 (I got to test drive the R36 Absolutly FANTASTIC), next was a CC but still no go, She won't part with the 06.
Next option is a TDI Touareg. This will be my car, haha.

Quick resurrection of this old thread ... Is a cargo net standard on an R36? And are standard mats woven or rubber? Any other little bits and bobs to look out for?
