  • Fuse Panel Layout

I just noticed all my interior lights, including reading lights(front and rear), lights above the make-up mirror, luggage compartment light, stop working. I thought it is the fuse but the manual seems far from helpful in locating it. Anyone knows which one I should check?

I also read from somewhere that it may be due to a failed comfort control module. I would like to check the fuse first and change it myself if that's the case before I bring it to VW to look at the module. Any other common symptoms if the unit fails?

usually the layout of the fuse box is on the inside of the box cover.

theres a couple of pages in the manual ( 2nd last book i think). page 80 something. they list which fuse/rating / duty.

there are also 2 fuse boxes: one under the bonnet, other is between the drivers door and dashboard- youll need a fine screwdriver to pop the cover ( careful you dont lose the clips).

consult the manual first to see which one you need.

my ( wifes actually ) car at the dealers right now hopefully fixing my dead satnav .
had a passat tdi. now mb c class.

I have checked but none seems related to the interior lights. I have also opened the fuse boxes at both sides. There are in fact fuses not mentioned in the manual (although the manual does says only the major ones are listed)! I just don't want to pull all of them to check as it may caused some instrument to reset and a headache to config again.

              agreed, its not the best.

the satnav fuse was listed as 15A and there is a 20A in the slot. i pointed that otu but barloworld didnt think it was that surprising.

Your other option is to check the voltage on the output of each fuse. You will need a multimeter or test light to check them. This means u don't need to pull each fuse to check them
