    My DSG has a fault...

yesterday while driving the gear indicator (PRNDS) in the MFD started flashing so I called VW who asked me to bring it in straight away.. which I did.

They did some tests and believe that a micro switch in the selector assy is faulty so I need a new one which has to be ordered and will take about 4 hours to install

Apparently this flashing can be either an electrical or mechanical fault... thankfully though it did not seem to affect the drivability of the car nor was the dealer concerned about me continuing to drive it.

Kind of strange but it seems to have cleared while driving today..

Possibly a loose wire or connection, but sounds like it's located in a tricky spot (hence the 4 hour install time). See if anything changes when you drive over anything bumpy.

These things are always a pain and can tend to leave a bad taste in your mouth.
As long as they get on to it quickly and remedy the problem with reasonable speed it's all we can expect. Problems will always occur. It's how they're dealt with that matters.

I'm not concerned about the service provided but I am disappointed that there is another issue... No worse than my last car though. Still smiling behind the wheel

I'd be a bit concerned that they told you to bring it in straight away, then said it's OK to keep driving until the part gets there..

My DSG is slowly getting worse and picking up jerkiness again, particularly when changing from reverse to drive.

By the sounds of it a quick scan with VAG-COM revealed that it was only a faulty sensor or loose connection. Personally I'd be more assured that they asked me to bring it in straight away on told it was fine until the parts arrive.

The diagnosis was a faukty micro switch related to the tiptronic function which I don't use..

Pity your car is still having issues after a mechatronic module replacement What now ?

Point taken. Fingers crossed that nothing else crops up.
