Waiting on an Icelandic Gray R36...

Hey Swallowtail, why did you choose the Icelandic over all the other colours? Which have you seen in the flesh & what was the 'thing' about the Icelandic that made you go for it rather than the others?

The blue is too loud (although it looks great, I prefer subtle), I don't like white cars, black is a PITA to keep clean, and the silver looks kinda nothing... so that left Icelandic. I haven't seen one in the flesh, but saw the pictures on here of someone that had got one - it's a real gunmetal gray colour, so I chose that one. I hope I like it in the flesh! LOL...

Funny about that, I'm exactly in the same boat! Did you go for sedan or wagon? I've seen the wagon pics on here of Icelandic & I think the colour looks ok but don't think it suits the wagon at all. On carsales.com.au there are a couple of pics of Passat CC's in Icelandic & they look sensational but I think it suits that style car much more so than theh standard Passat shape.

Sedan. I actually think the wagon is a better looking car, but I'm copping enuf flak from people for buying a Passat, let alone it being a wagon... LOL.

Seriously though, I don't need a wagon, and the sedan is marginally lighter and quicker.

My wife would only agree to the passat so long as it didnt actually say "PASSAT" anywhere on the R36. Those Passat adds several years ago turned her of Passats for life!! (If she sees some old snob these days she actaully says "he's such a Passat")
