Interesting. I had the same thing on my 300C as did a few other owners.
I took it back to Chrysler and told them that their pre-delivery preperation was substandard and insisted that they repair the finish.

They did....mostly. The other owners had similar outcomes and eventually paid to have the car properly detailed and I mean paid.

Take it back to the dealer and give 'em what for.

Let them know that you're not happy, and that you're going to keep making noise where and when needed until they sort it to your satisfaction. I reckon that's almost at the point where a respray is needed... or at least asked for, going on the basis of if you want something, ask for double, then you'll seem reasonable accepting what you really want.

It's amazing how many dealers confuse quick and easy wash/vacuum with detailing (eg using power polisher/buffers.. I've had that happen on a few cars in the past).

It's also amazing how much they'll argue you must have done it after delivery and that it's all your fault. My Golf in London was delivered, at about 7pm at night, from Scotland on the upper deck of a car carrier.. I washed it the next day, noticed that there were scratches all over it, reported it to the leasing company by 3pm the next day, and they replied that I must have done it by driving the whole 2 miles from home to the car wash and back again. They finally agreed, after some arguing, to fix it, but the car was delivered in March, and I returned it in June, still waiting for the fix to be done.

how long have you had the car for? If its still brand new then id follow it up immediately. If time has passed then it makes it harder to complain.

I regret not making noise about my poorly delivered car.

That's how the car was like when I took it in two weeks ago and they did not rectify it completely so I am bringing it in again tomorrow. I will demand for a refund of the paint job if they do not do it properly this time.

A professional detailer should be able to rectify that. Its amazing what they can do. Other people have gotten approval to have their cars fixed by a third party.

Make sure you keep your cool. Once you get abusive they will probably just brush you off.

I actually went for the 'X-PACK' paint protection thingy and I would actually demand my money back if they don't get it done properly and I will use that money to get someone MORE professional to get it done.

so you paid for them to st*ff it up ?

and you went back and they didnt get it sorted .

that really stinks what a bunch of morons .

So its no wonder most of us tell them to stop wasting their breath with all these extras.

Had my car in first thing this morning and will be leaving it for two days with them. I suggested to him to use a 'cheapo' spot light to just shine over the car to see any imperfection on the paint and he firmly refused in a not so friendly way and commented that it is impossible to find a car that perfect on the paint which I challenged him that I could find one. Anyway, we shall see what happens tomorrow.

They mark easily don't they, and on black they just show up everything. Our BMP GTI was delivered covered in crap, long story short I noted it on delivery, the failed to fix it first time so I employed a detailer of my choice who they agreed to pay and a proper paint detail was done. Desperately did not want it re-painted. It's a few months down the track now and the detailer applied wax is still beading water but despite this the tailgate is covered in scratches/marks from wife's use and it would need another polish to come back to "new".

They say you only own a black car once...

Don't le tthe dealer get away with it if it was genuinely their doing, especially given the paint protection package was purchased. Dealer refunded me $1000 of the delivery fee and $300 for taking my car 50kms to get it detailed when the detailer was 1km from the yard....

Hey mate I'm making some assumptions but I'm pretty sure I know what happened here..

VWs must have a soft clearcoat like Subaru as the way they wash them in the yard induces swirls very easily.. basically poor wash technique/products and dirty cloths and chamois'.

I test drove an R32 in black that was literally pulled from stock for me to drive as I specially requested a 6sp manual car and it was covered in swirls including on the tail lights.

Your car must have been swirled up pretty bad so they have used the services of a detailer that really shouldn't be in that line of business and they've probably used a cheap wool pad and cutting compound to put holograms all through your paint. Great no more swirls but now it looks worse..

The paint protection you paid for was simply slapped on top of the paint which was in poor condition.

The good news is your paint isn't damaged, but a detailer rectifying this will remove any paint protection while correcting the finish.

I would demand your money back and go to a detailer at the dealer's cost who can fix this, and apply a sealant just as good if not better than what you bought as paint protection. PM me if you want some names of detailers who can fix this.

They say you only ever have one black car. It's true. I will never buy a black car again. They look great when they are clean, but about 5 minutes after you clean it, they are dirty again!

My daughter wanted to buy a new black Mitsubishi Lancer. It took all my convincing to talk her out of it and she finally relented and went with white with 18"rims and skirts all round. It looks fabulous and she is happy that she listened to me. What's the old saying? "trust me, I'm your father."
