Has anyone bought/fitted the bumper protector on the Passat wagon? I'm considering it but would like a real world picture of it and also feedback about it before shelling out $200.00 odd dollars for it

Although there are standard templates for the R36, it can also be custom made to your requirements with the cost related to the amount of film. To give you an idea of cost - the rear bumper sill was about $100, and you can spend about $1.5k to cover most of the car!-------------------------------------
