  • Exclusivity - Eroded

So I picked up the R36 in June last year.

Was so happy to have something a little different after the GTI, which due to its popularity was everywhere on our roads.

Having one in Dark (Shadow) Blue made it a bit different, but still.

So I turn up to work last week, go into my carpark (Darling Park, Sydney), and notice that some bugger has exactly the same car as me, parked in the Price Waterhouse Coopers Carpark.

    No big deal, but damn!

Footnote: as per usual I tried to find reasons why mine could be possibly better, and noticed his/her tints are so pale, must be legal 35% tints. Must say the 15% tints on mine look heaps better.

    A small consolation I suppose.

Remember the days when carparks were all full of white Falcons and commodores, and the way you could tell how far up the corporate ladder someone was by the variant they had (Berlina, Fairmont etc)? How things have changed..... for the better mind you.

Just a random post for first thing in the morning!!

            Enjoy the drive!

BTW is it just me or do you guys also get A LOT of brake dust from the R36 brakes? It didn't take many hours before I had to clean the wheels.... Seriously messy looking.

Fortunately. There's probably a good reason for that.

It just goes to show that exclusivity isn't always a good thing.

I'm not bothered cleaning the rims anymore due to the dust. Haven't done it for about 3 months now, don't mind the shadow chrome look

Standard soft Euro brake pads - supposed to give better feel, response, and longer disc life (pads are pretty soft though). Just about every car I saw in London had nice brake-pad dust coloured wheels, as well as other Euro cars I've seen here, such as SB Barina, Peugeots, VW, Mercs, etc.

Meguiars (spelling??) wheel cleaner with a high pressure blaster will bring them back a treat in about 30 seconds, and avoid the hassles of having to scrub between the spokes.
