And nting this is my personal opinion.... I believe that VW are fully aware of the DSG issue in some of their vehicles. As there seems to be only a small percentage of cars with this problem, the solution is to replace the faulty mechatronics when the problem arises. So more than likely your car will not have the DGS issue and you will have many happy Km's of driving.
Cheers terra. I really hope so. My missus will kill me if it acts up. I can hear it now, "I thought you said it was meant to be a really good car..."
In any case, I'm sure you're right and it will be fine when she gets here. May 09 can't come soon enough.
Get your car looked at as it should not be doing this at all if your DSG is functioning properly. When we firt got the car the first thing we noticed was the limp/sleep mode mainly into oncoming traffic (gets the old heart racing) but by the time we came to the 15k service the car was doing the whiplash as well...
only done it twice and only to me, shes driving it much more & never had it. Also only happened in the first week at philip island, starting to wonder if i was making it up.
i don't fancy rolling into an intersection and then flooring it to see if it will do it again!
