Got the 2TDI after nearly 7 months! First impressions.
Well we finally picked it up from Burwin . their preparation was first class and i went over it very carefully before handing over the cheque.
the sales guy ( the fifth we dealt with over the period) was very knowledgable and took my wife through all the features of which there are many. I stumped him on how to transfer a CD to the RNS510 hard drive.
My wife took first turn back to our place ( 45 minute drive across town ) and i could see the grin on her face all the way!
she loves it already; her highlights: - the electric heated seats and the user friendly satnav ( after 4 years she cant work my bmw idrive). Also the look of it inside and out.

Next we loaded up and drove to philip island- my turn, 2 hours of fun checking out the fat torque. ( no issues with jerkiness off the line) This tdi has the new CR engine which i think is a bit quieter than ones i've heard before. absolutely incredible what theyve rung out of 2 litres i reckon. Ive driven a bmw530d and this isnt as fast but not 50% slower!
we tried the park assist at san remo -
, the xenons are great, the overtaking power is effortless.
On the downside
, i have to admit i reckon the seats need more width/support and being a FWD its not as good as RWD on long sweeping bends at high speed. Bluetooth quality average.
So overall fantastic
. Highlights: interior ambience, satnav screen, power, quietness, Pirelli Pzero tyres, Value for money.
