V6 Engin not starting properly on hot humid days

I have been experiencing problems with my R36 on hot humid days. The engine does not seem to start on the 1st go, but once idling it is ok.
This problem does not occur on a cold start only after some driving (on a hot and humid day) and the engine is turned off. Then, when firing up the car again, it just doesn't seem to start. It idles too low or does not idle. Maybe something to do with the sparkplugs or fuel pump?
Has anyone else experienced this prob?

I don't have an R36 but it could be fuel vapourisation. On such a new car I'd be hot footing it back to VW.

You could try turning the key on and off a couple of times before starting. I would expect that to run the fuel pump which should prime the lines and help.

Might be stating the obvious, but don't use any throttle when starting - the car does all that for you.

Funny about the problem being only on hot humid days. One would think that even if you were in the Amazon, that the ambient temp would be insignificant compared to the sort of heat that has built up in an engine bay that has been running for a while.

When in doubt, send it back!
