Passat 5.5?

Recently been in Shanghai China and saw lots of Passats. Mostly black as most are government cars. Lots of black audi A6 as well which is probably the next rank up for govt wallies.

The most popular are B5, some B6, but also some of this version........sort of half and half?

I was with my Chinese programmer and asked him to snap the car, he wouldn't take a pic of a black one ( said the govt guys might chase him and bash him up!), so this one is a private grey one...

Its called a Passat Lingyu and is based on a LWB B5 platform which is also shared with the 2000-2007 Skoda Superb.

i couldnt find the new b6 in this website but i saw some. no doubt its there.
The Lingyu is certainly a high quality fitout as well- i only saw ones with full leather and also a wooden look steering wheel ( not sure about how i like the look)

This option was already available for the B5.5 Passats - mine has a 3 spoke wood leather steering wheel...
