I would be surprised if all the usual suspects aren't working on a flash upgrade for the R36 already. There might even be a flash available now.

I have checked a few in the past month and it appears that there are no upgrades at present.

It certainly has been run on a dyno in both Germany & the UK.

There has so far been little to no worthwhile gains to be had. And I think this is why there is pretty much no products on the market!

You must remember on these things that they are now FSI, and they really struggle for available fuel from the cam driven 130 bar fuel pumps (at certain RPM ranges). Hopefully APR will in the future work on their High Pressure fuel pumps & apply them to the normally aspirated engines! (RS4, R8 all use the same technology).

You can see what we have had to do on the same pump on the turbo cars here: http://www.goapr.com.au/products/fsi_fuel_pump.html

I knew you couldn't get that much out of the NA cars but I didn't realise it's that difficult with the FSI engines. So there's still nothing really available either for the R8 or RS4s either?
At the end of the day though, they're all pretty awesome engines/cars anyway so whilst minor gains are always nice, it's not the end of the world if you can't get that much.
                  Cheers,

                    What about exhaust?

                    Guy H,

What about the exhaust? Are there any gains to be had there?

On the 3.2V6, i've been told there is a fairly poorly designed 'bottleneck' at the T-junction where the exhaust splits into 2 for the twin rear pipes. Any truth to that?

And there's the old gem of taking out the factory cats and replacing them with the proverbial empty paint tin with a piece of steel wool floating around in it!

Is there anyone out there with an aftermarket exhaust (3inch all the way and barely legal cats)?

l have been looking around for upgrades as well. l found that someone is working on an exhaust system in conjunction with jetex. i believe you can put in the BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox and gain about 5kw and i am aware of a company who will be doing a tune on the R36 around the end of the year, i will let you know the outcome.

even if an exhaust mod doesnt deliever any sizeable gains - just think of the improvement in noise and the pleasure of driving through tunnels!!

                          Hi all,
New to this forum and considering an R36 wagon. Took one for a quick spin this morning at Barlowworld and was mightily impressed. Build quality and general fit and finish are impeccable.
There doesn't appear to be any "power up" mods available any where for this car so I'm curious if there's been any further news on the exhaust front.
Has anyone modded their exhaust yet?

                          Cheers

Would that BMC airbox help a 3.2V6?

I am desperate to up the ante with my car, but have not come accross any solutions in my price range ($2000-$3000).
