Is DVD map data supplied with RNS510?

Recently picked up my Passat TDi wagon (125kW) after a 4 month wait. Absolutely loving it - what a car!

Anyway, just wondering whether I should have been given the DVD containing the map data for the RNS510? I know the dealer has loaded it on to the hard drive etc...but what if I have a problem down the line and the data needs to be reloaded?

Has anyone else who specced the RNS510 been given this DVD?

Hmmm most definately go back to your dealer and get the disc. I picked my Touareg last week and yes the disc was inside the RNS510 but the case was in the glovebox. The version I have is Whereis version 7 (hope to hell this is the latest version)

Went for a test drive using the Satnav, the response time is very good indeed, tried to get myself lost but the lady in the box got me out of trouble.

Accuracy so far so good but it did lead me up the garden path yesterday going through North Sydney, when in one street it said, "turn left now" if I had done so would have hit a brick wall and there was no left turn even further up have also heard it craps out when you go out of the city.....yet to confirm this with this version. Going away for a 6 day trek next week so will let you know.

What, they give u version 7?,
i think the latest version is 13 or 14 or 15.
because in in 2005 i bought the version 12 one.
i think you should ask your dealer.

The latest Whereis is version 14 BUT this has been integrated with the original VW disc Part no 7L6.919.859.B.

I also misread my version number it is version 1 (Vl) designed for the NEW RNS 510 apparently an original Whereis disc will not work in the RNS 510

the dealer keeps a master disc, with the latest software on it if you ever need a reload!
