Advice about buying 2003 Passat Wagon 4 Motion W8

Looking for advice and what to look for when buying an older Passat

2003 VW Passat wagon (Black) 4L W8 4 Motion Auto
Is the auto a DSG? or is that to early for that?
Its done a few kms (300k km), but its his daily driver and has had it just serviced

Going back to NZ (home) for xmas, thinking I might just buy a car instead of getting a rental.
Ive asked if it will pass a WoF (warrant of fitness/RWC), Seems if the ad is true would be a nice car for 3 weeks.

The WOF expires 12th Dec 2017 and the rego expires 18th January 2018. Yes it will pass a WOF and I use it as my daily driver. I changed the oil about 3 months ago and I haven't needed to get any belts changed. Nothing wrong with it at all, gearbox is fine and changes gears smoothly and is an absolute beast!

Towbar is all good but I have never used it so not quite sure about the plug/lights etc.

Rego is between $50-70 for 12 months
