There is a house for sale along Old Cleveland Road Belmont and sitting in the front yard and looking very abandoned is a B3 Passat Variant. Plates have gone as well as the owners (it appears).

Not sure whether it is worth the chase but ......

Hey Bob, ive seen that many times, been there for years, would surely be cheap? worth calling in to ask anyway i reckon, by the looks thatll have the 1.8 RP motor single point, in serious need of 1.8T action, hmm. Only thing that will let it down is rust, they were shocking back in the UK for rust, they were top cars back then. Loved the GT Wagon, was a really good car that
