Dash cam wiring

I'm looking to install a dashcam but don't like the thought of having a wire running down and into the cigarette lighter socket (which is always on).

Has anyone had one installed where the wiring is hidden away and connected to the fusebox?

Hillbilly should be able to help you with this...he has front and rear dash cams installed (CC should be the same as Passat)!
