Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi all

Just bought a 2011 cc 125tdi. Mocha brown with cornsilk/black interior.

Very happy so far and hope to learn more about ccs in this forum.

    Cheers,

      Hello,
I am trying to buy a 2010-11 passat 125TDI and I would like to know what should I be aware of and be careful on inspection?
I also happy to read bombers18 feedback after 2 months of using his car...
I heard a lot negative issue with the DSG and DPF filter cost, and many people telling me get rid of vw after 5 years which warranty expires. Is it a bad idea to buy a 2010 vw now?
      Cheers

        Hi Seebi
Car has been great so far. No issues apart from plastic trim between boot lid and rear windscreen.

It was cracked when i bought it and i just had it replaced with the upgraded metal trim under the car's extended warranty.

DSG works great but my car only has 40000 klms on it. Full vw service history and 10mths left on the warranty. I'll keep an eye out for any issues in the gearbox.

It's been a great car so far and one of the best built, best value for money cars I've owned.

        Cheers

I believe that the warranty is 3 years and not 5, unless someone says otherwise. Also I have been driving a 2011 PAssat CC for the last 1 year. No problems and Diesel fuel economy is good. Still not as good as the Golf Diesel I used to have, but this is a heavier car than Golf.

No problems with DPF or DSG and the car has done 86000 Kms.

I also have the cracked plastic trim between the boot lid and rear windscreen, but I am not much worried about it. Anyway how much does that cost and is it easy to change, I don't have extended warranty.

Must be a common thing this trim between the boot and rear screen. Mine is cracked too.

Well what do you know, as is mine...... I'm guessing I'll have to ring VW for a replacement, any idea on the cost?
