  • Just bought a 2012 used passat.. Stereo Code?

I have all the documentation etc, but one thing I noticed is that it's missing stereo code.. Do VWs need a code? Or where should I be looking for it? I assume just a business card with a 4 digit code on it..

    Thanks

You don't need it, unless you want to use that radio in another car. Your car remembers the code of its radio.

          No, its generally not supplied.

If you really need it, call the selling dealer, and see if they have it on file. If not, book it in to have the serial number extracted from the radio, so they can look up the code for you.

Ahh.. never owned anything like the Passat before so didn't know if it came with one or not.. Just thought it was an odd omission but perhaps VW has thought about it and got rid of the need for a code.. ALl good..

No they havent The answers above are 100% correct. If you are really worried take it to a dealer and pay to find out.

As said it is only needed if you put it in another car
