excuse my ignorance as i dont have my 3cc yet but are the V6 ones fitted with a transmission cooler standard? i presume they are but just checking.

to work with this for some extra cooling? or is there a danger of getting the fluid too cool?

DSG issues aren't often attributed to excessive temperatures / overheating (although temperature and humidity may be a contributing factor).
The DQ250 6-speed wet-clutch DSG in the CC is a much more reliable unit overall than the more problematic 7-speed dry-clutch DQ200 DSG that has been the subject of recent recalls.
