  • Potential Passat cc V6 2009 Buyer

    Hi All,

I'm looking to buy Passat CC V6 2009 with most of the options (Sat Nav, Park Assist, Adptve Cruise Control, Wood grain inserts etc)

The car has done 80000Kms and I was hoping to get some advice if it is worth getting for the price low 30K? Secondly any issues/things I need to inspect before buying? Lastly the Factory warranty was expired on 1st of this month, Can I still get additional warranty and if yes, then how much would it cost?

Sorry for asking all these questions, I never owned VW and I have no idea about service/maintenance of these cars.

    Thanks for the help

    Cheers
    Sid

    P.S. Is VW maintenance/service expensive?

    Welcome to the forums Sid

What are you comparing the CC against?

I don't own a CC but will say..........

-Get the vehicle inspected by your local mechanic/Technician or Road Side Service.
    -Look for good service history.
-Look at price guides & compare with others that are similar.
-The mileage of the vehicle will mean some wear & tear items maybe due for renewal depending on maintenance history such as Filters (Fuel/Pollen/Air), Brakes & Tyres etc.

Only you will know if its a good buy ! If you think its not a good deal walk away.

Thanks for the info phaeton. I'm comparing Passat CC with Mitshubshi Evo X.

I looking to buy a car from a dealer and I'm hoping to get all the relevant information this weekend. Once i have the details, I will post more details once I have inspected the car.

I was more looking at average servicing/maintenance cost per year for this car. Keep you guys posted.

      Cheers

Dealers charge for reason that are obvious & aftermarket VW specialists are considerably better.

Don't know how much Mitsu/Ralliart charge for servicing - wouldn't think they would have capped servicing?????

Hello Sid, I just bought a 2009 CC. I love the car had it about 6 weeks now. You must be aware that the toothed belt has to be replaced at about 105000 K's and the DSG oil at about 120000K's. The toothed belt at the VW dealer cost me $1195.00 and have been quoted $560.00 to do the DSG oil. I looked up the Red Book price and it was $34600 to $38200. so your price sounds fine. I had some (unlucky) trouble with my radio/nav display screen but was all fixed for $120.00 probably won't happen to you. Hope this helps but I just think mine is the best car I've ever owned. Mione is a deisel and runs very cheaply. Good luck. George.

            Hi Sid,

As a 2009 owner (TDI though) I can say you'll love it more than a Mitsu...more unique (put it this way, no CC's were at yesterday's GAD in Canberra.. except mine.

Price, is good, but there's a few with less k's for only a bit more (pretty sure mid 30's).

Things to check out - DSG recall - has it been done (x2), A lot of owners have had issues with the rear door seals (i.e. water staying underneath and then seeping onto under carpet) - Check this out pre purcahsing (as you have no VW warranty). Lift the seal near the rear seat and given its a car yard, it will have been washed so if it has a problem, there will be water under the seal.

Regarding warranty, if an authorised dealer, than they will be able to sell you Australian wide aftermarket warranty (not VW but better something than nothing!) VW can only be bought before the original runs out.

Options - I love mine its got everything except the panorama roof but tbh it only looks good on black CCs (IMO).

I believe the V6 motor does not have a timing belt but a timing chain with a automatic tensioner.

Do check if the front & back brake pads and rotors have been replaced.
Full replacement is around the $ 1200 mark.
