You can also just not look at the glare. Works for me!
Or you can:
1) Get some wet and dry sandpaper and scratch the shiny bit to end up with a non-reflective "brushed" surface
2) Get a $4 can of plastci dip and cover the shiy bit.
Congrats on the xmas present (just caught your thread here!)
The glare, that got to me too... although a pair of sunnies does help. I did the iPhone trick as well
The kufatec premium bluetooth! it's about time. I wonder if dealers will retro-fit it seeing as it appears to be the now "premium bluetooth option" from VW? might have to check-in with my local dealership.
I got the same colour as you did, all the same options minus dynaudio but with front-assist and adaptive cruise control.
Actually I settled on an 09 Iron Grey CC without any options (besides the metallic paint) ~ 3 wks ago. The original car that i wanted had been delayed for another 4 months which made it into a 8 month wait for a car which i thought ridiculous so i packed up at one dealer & went to the next....as it is they had an iron grey on display. No options whatsoever so i am missing it all
I got them to install the skoda uhv for me however which worked a treat. I am also getting the rns off ebay with the cd changer. It's funny how much you can save however some options still cannot be fitted on this way
So far on an optionless car
Passat CC Jan 09 V6 Iron Grey (40kms on the dial on delivery)
RNS 510 (off ebay) - 1100
RNS 510 sat nav software V2 ( off ebay) - 350
CD Changer - 250
Cd changer installation bits & pieces - 217
Additional shopping bag hook in the trunk - 27
Installation?????
Still can't get a reverse cam or climate seats or adaptive cruise control fitted.....saw the radar module on ebay for the adaptive cruise control but probably just one of many parts. I am sure missing the options you have got Leagle thanks to the dealer who mucked it up for me
Still i am enjoying the iron grey A very good drive...hmmm did i hear there are 09 DSG problems & recalls? Doh! Better call VW tom to find out if my car is affected!

Yeah, service campaign 37E8 I believe. Apparently the clutch temperature can be interpreted incorrectly by the DSG gearbox and basically initiates procedures to begin to protect itself, with the final end result being disengaging Drive.
I believe it's just a software fix and can be done relativley quickly depending on how busy they are. Mine was done last time I had the car in.
I think VW are just being precautionary, I suspect that there are many DSG owners out there that have never had a problem even on spirited drives. Its probably something they saw in Europe or the US and then decided to get a global campaign out on it...
Sounds good. Thanks Psyk, i will ask them if i need to bring my car in as well.
Btw when did you bring your car in for a first service. I was told that the first service is a yr after buying the car but remembered back to my toyota & honda days that they usu get us to service the car in the first month after buying it, oil change etcetc. Just want to be sure i am told the right thing

If you haven't had the car in to get the DSG looked at I would book it in with them.
Haven't had the car in for a formal service as yet as I think it's only needed every 12 months or 15,000km's if I recall correctly. The car was originally in to get the MDI looked at, the guys sorted the MDI, did the DSG service campaign all within a day and gave me a courtesy car to boot. Was a good experience overall for me.
Which dealer did you go to Psyk? it sounds like that have fantastic service there. I heard Chatswood Classic Cars was good & have no idea about the rest.

Psyk,
I have had the problem happen to me a couple of times once on the freeway (on cruise control), another time just sitting at a set of lights went to take off gearbox would not go into gear (flashing Neutral in MFD and had to restart car to overcome problem) and the last time was driving up a mountain. This occurred a couple of months ago and last time I took it into VW I mentioned it and VW ended up replacing a sensor in the DSG gearbox. Maybe a couple of months ago VW were not aware of any software issues. Anyway since the sensor replacement, I have had no problems with DSG. I still got the letter and will get the software upgrade.
[QUOTE=Leagle;433135]Yep, finally, took delivery of my new Passat CC. /QUOTE]
So Leagle, how is the Christmas present going? Did you get a chance to take it on a good run?
I took mine down the South Coast several times through the National Park via Stanwell Park (over Sea Cliff bridge) and up Bulli Pass. The cornering is fantasic, especially on the Sport suspension setting and using the paddles to change. It's just a lot of fun.

Hi everyone - Happy New Year!
Antman, glad to see you are having fun in the Passat CC. The South Coast drive is s a nice route, lots of twists around Kangaroo Valley too if you go that way. You should go North up towards Lithgow too - along Bells of line Road, very nice drive. But watch out for police etc.
Unfortunately, I got booked for speeding - double demerits - in my "other car" of all things. Still have my license fortunately but it puts a dampener on having any fun in the new CC
Conversely, still have well under 1000 kays on the CC so still treating her with kid gloves, keeping revs well under etc. One nice thing about the CC is that cruising suits it very well - particularly in comfort mode lol.
sigpicMY10 Passat CC V6 - RNS510, GPS, RVC, self park, dynaudio, cooling seats!
