Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Handling & Performance comparison - CC V6 versus B7 Sedan V6

(apologies - cross posted from the B6/7 group in case CC readers dont venture over there)

    Hey all,

Prob a stupid question - ive had a look but cant see it covered so appreciate any help. (ill ask here rather than the CC lounge as its got more traffic)

How does the suspension setup of a 2012 CC V6 compare to that of a similarly equipped 2012 B7 Sedan V6 w/Sports pack.
Given they both are running DCC (and the B7 Sports pack wouldn't drop it any further) is it fair to assume the suspension setup/ground clearance/handling would be identical?
Check (if you live in usa): WeeklyAd2, or Aldi Catalogue.

Is the equivalent specced CC setup softer than the B7 sedan because its marketed as a more luxurious coupe?

Also - looking at the performance figures - despite some 20+kg less weight than the Sedan the CC has a slower 0-100 time as a V6 (5.5 v 5.6), but strangely a faster time as a TDI over the sedan. Is this correct or just dodgy numbers from the manufacturer?

I guess in short i'm asking is there anything im overlooking in picking up a CC V6 over a B7 sedan V6 (aside from rear headroom)

    Cheers & thanks,
    Owen
