Announcement

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • USBC issue...

I need assistance with USB-C. Arteon shooting brake model 2022.
No DVD, SD card, or USB A. The console has just two USB-C ports.
USB C STICK 64 GB and USB C STICK128 GB were tried, but failed.
A USB-C to USB-A cable was tried, but it didn't work.
    I tried connecting a USB-C cable to a USB-C device, but it didn't work.
I can charge the phone, but I can't update it or use the USB to play music.
Yes, I used FAT32, exFAT and NTFS...same issue.
Is there anyone who can fix it?

They appear to be sensitive to devices.

I suceeded with these in the T-ROC https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09R2C9...sin_title&th=1

      Hi EddieP,
Sounds really frustrating – USB-C can be a real pain sometimes! You might try checking the manual first, bacause some models have USB ports that are “charge-only” or limited to specific functions. Verify if your Arteon’s USB-C ports support full data transfer (for media updates/music playback) in addition to charging. It may be connected with the cable you are using - not all USB-C cables support data transfer. Even if you’ve tried a USB-C to USB-A cable, make sure it’s a confirmed data cable.Check if there’s a recent firmware update for your infotainment system – manufacturers sometimes release fixes for USB compatibility issues.
For your phone, double-check that it’s set to the proper mode (like MTP or file transfer) when connected.
If none of these solve it, it might be a quirk with the USB-C implementation in your model.

Good luck, and hope you can get those DRM channels working again soon! )

Checked manual - these usb are data/charge and support full data transfer. Icon on usbc port indicate also that is data/power usb.
I tried USB-C cables which works in another car and no problem with cables.
Firmware update - yes, that is something need to be checked by VW tech since i book a car service for this issue. Car is still under warranty.
I tested phone with file transfer option - still not working. Only charging.
Most likely : USB C module gone or/and fuse for it...
          Thanks for suggestion.
