Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Dynamic Road Sign Display - VCDS/ODB11

I've confirmed this tweak is working

stolen from A guide to enable EU specific features for AU Spec Tiguans

    1. Module 5F
    Adaptations
    Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2 traffic_sign_recognition_0x21
    Set to Active
    Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu menu_display_road_sign_identification
    Set to Enabled

    Then go to Coding
    Long Coding
    Byte 24, activate Bit 6

    2. Module A5

    Then go to Coding
    Long Coding
    Byte 16, activate Bit 4

    3. Module 17

    Then go to Coding
    Long Coding
    Byte 5, activate Bit 2

Then you need to disable Road Sign Fusion.

    4. Module A5
    Adaptation
    Road sign detection fusion mode
Change from Road sign fusion to Road sign detection

If you have HUD in your Tiguan, the following coding will enable speed signs to be shown on it (For NZ and other countries)

    Module 82
    Coding
    Long Coding

    Byte 0, Activate Bit 0.

    Reboot the infotainment system.

Does this tweak result in any error codes or warnings? I seem to recall reading somewhere that it creates a message appearing very time nav starts or similar or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Yes, once you drive up the road it will display a warning on the AID for a few seconds. The warning goes away on its own and is not intrusive.

The warning will show even if it picks up a sign and is showing it.

      It works well regardless.

Top is the message that shows for a few seconds.
Buttom is what shows in the car status view.

New to this can you explain to me how I do the long coding once I'm in there. There is a large number on top line with a series of smaller numbers beside it, under that is a line on left it says exmple byte 00 and right hex 2. Then a list of bit numbers what do you change to get the settings you are saying please.
