I have just received a service notice from Volkswagen Group Australia asking to inspect my differential gears as fitted to the final drive to see if unhardened differential gears were fitted; it appears that the unhardened gears wear very quickly.

The inspection should take ½ hour to undertake and if required 2 hours for the replacement, which is of course free of charge.

That's a pain - extra trip to the dealer. Wll they lend you a loan car for nix??
