V8 TDI Touareg R Line officially announced today.....

We (VW dealers), were made officially aware that the R Line Touareg is coming.
Theres a pretty good possibility that they're in production now or even already built as we'll have visibility of stock in the next week or two.
Exciting stuff, can't wait to drive one!!!
No idea of price yet unfortunately but would have to guess at around the $120 - $130K mark??
It has every option as standard except sunroof so if you worked out a fully loaded V6 TDI it would come in around $110K on the road. Plus more for 21" wheels, V8 engine, etc, etc should put it somewhere up there.

So top of the range R line doesn't come with sunroof... Wow.

I have a friend that is a VW DP and he said they will be in showrooms within 2 weeks.

Touareg has dropped off the VW website completely so no doubt that section being updated.

Seriously considering the V8 as the upgrade from the GTI.

I think only in the Cayenne, which I looked at a month ago.

A check on the UK VW site indicates they have Active Climate Seat with Titan Black or Espresso Nappa Leather as an option the Altitude 4.2 V8 TDI Touareg. If the Australian option list offers the same I'll be very sorely tempted - it was only the lack of comfort access and Active Climate Seats that had me pass over the Touareg.

Active climate seats are not currently listed as options or standard features on the Australian version of the Touareg. The only non dealer fitted option on the V8 TDI is a pano roof, that's not to say they won't be available on the MY13.5 or MY14 models; of which VW Australia enjoy releasing just after we all take delivery
