  • Recovery points, roof basket and other protection accessories

Having a look through the net for some after market accessories for the Touareg I came across some pictures on the following:
    Front tow point,
    front recovery points,
    front head light protection,
    wheel arch guards,
16" steel wheels coloured coated with 75 (?) profile off road tyres,
    communication antenna mountings,
roof basket with a real holding capability,
    real tail light protection, and
    rear recovery points.

The gear appears to be for the old model (2003-2006) Touareg but I wounder if the facelift model will get a look in soon?

I have another picture of this vehicle complete with 4 antennas and a machine gun. I assumed it was a joke, and therefore didn't necessarily think the accessories were real.

From memory, the 16inch rims are available for the R5, but I suspect not your V6 TDi (different bolt pattern or something). In fact I think the wheeels might be the same as the wheels available for the T5 transporters.

I reckon some searching of clubtouareg.com will net the answers.

      Great Touareg shots

I need a couple of these accessories, local dealers are of no help when you ask the question. Its as if they dont realise( know or care)that its an off road vehicle??
Where can I find that web site?

The web site is as follows:

Of cause it is in German so if you can work your way through it you will see that they are modified for the Bundeswehr (German Defence Force) as a Command and Control vehicle for operational service. There may be some of these getting around Kandahar (Afghanistan) and the Dutch could have one out in Tarin Kowt, but at 5400kg the poor old V6 TDI motors are getting a work out.
Toyota Land Cruiser (100 series) and Nissan Patrols are also done up the same and used by the many military forces, UN and contractors around Baghdad. Big dollars to outfit but is it worth it
