What's the go? The main beam bulbs keeps blowing at random times. I've chanaged the bulbs probably 4 times in the past year and it can happen on either side (not at the same time, though).
Any ideas?
Thanks

Check the Voltage on the globe terminals. With engine running at idle the voltage should be 13.2V max. Have an assistant to open throttle to increase engine RPM briefly over 2500 again the voltage should be 13.2V I know that very often I measured higher voltage but the globe manufacturers don't accept the warranty if the globe is showing formation of the ball at the posts. Also make sure that the globe is properly seated in the headlight.

Thanks, I'll give that a go (if I can get into the terminals without removing the lights).
The only way to get to the bulbs/terminals is to remove the entire cluster. But appreciate the picture anyways

This may seem like a silly question but are you touching the glass on the bulbs at all? If so the oils in your fingers will create hot spots and lead to premature failure.
Maybe it's worthwhile to note that, if you not sure that somebody had touched the glass part of the globe or you did it accidentally, just use methylated spirit to clean the glass.
Check the cleanliness and security of the electrical connectors for the headlight assembly. Also, if it's not completely engaged into the carrier, it can render the lights inoperative. I've seen this on a few in the past, where customers have removed the headlight to replace the globe, but have not completely re-engaged it into the carrier and the lights have not worked.

Ok cheers, I'll check it out next time I've got the car. It seems to be doing alright now so I might just wait until we have another drama... I've learnt my lesson to not touch things when they aren't broken haha.
