Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Did a muffler delete but was not happy with it.

Ended up with a custom cat back exhaust with a varex muffler to get the best of both worlds; closed for stealth, (nice induction noise too if you have an open pod intake) And open for some nice dsg pops.

I also did a muffler delete but it was quite loud.

If you are going to do it then the hotdog muffler delete is the way to go but it may not be enough of a change to warrant the cost.

If you want some decent noise and not too much drone you need to install a high flow cat, hot-dog resonator and sports muffler at the back.

Originally started with just a sports muffler:

But this was a little anit-social, though it made awesome DSG farts under full load.

So installed a hot-dog resonator in the guts and it was a lot more liveable.
