So, as some might have seen, I grabbed one of the few 130TDI R-Line MY15's recently, and with four thou on the clock in 4 weeks, thought I would share some impressions, views, and maybe a couple of questions.
Firstly. Probably went overboard getting the R-Line. Obviously, I had my eye on Flappy Paddles, and was blinded by the idea. Though the extra dark tinting is a plus, really, the R Line was more me spotlighting the Sports Steering Wheel, than anything else.
The CC holds speed on the downslopes, better when at freeway speeds, than urban environments (yep, I am a user of CC in urban environments. so shoot me..
)
Crappy radio reception, AM and FM. This will be brought up with service, for a warranty fix (hopefully). Has/does anyone else suffer from crappy radio reception?
Angel Gear! Good golly gosh! (Coasting Function, for those that didn't know). Which obviously doesn't work if CC is on.
Great AC! Though the Mk5 Golf could push out clouds, and the Tiguan hasn't yet, I live in hope, but pressing Max Auto pushes out a lot of cold air, in a hurry.
Adjustable rear seats, fore and aft. Very handy for tall rear-seat passengers.
I should have had them throw in mudflaps, and window shields, to sweeten the deal, but in the rush, I forgot. Does anyone have any recommendations, other than VW genuine?
No desire to off-road, but potential for some soft-road driving. What are your thoughts on side steps/skirt protectors? Skid-plates?
ECB do not have a nudge bar for the 2013-2016 5N series, yet. But it is a must. Am keeping my ear to the ground, on that one.
Towbar: More as a touch-and go feature, than serious towing of my 2T caravan, but I do want something more sturdy than the Euro-style bar. Thoughts and recommendations? (I might use it to relocate the van occasionally, but am not planning on using it for the long hauls)
Thank you for reading, and all useful comments are most welcome.
