Yeah though at some point there's only so much torque will help with the inertia of 2 tons of metal and you're better off looking to strip weight to go faster. A tuned SQ5 will do 0-100 in ~4.8sec (stock claimed figure is 5.1sec). I would love one of these but I think it's going to remain on my wish list.
Though back to the 103TDI, you'll definitely get quite noticeable gains on the road from chipping it to 130kW/400Nm. Best if you do it to one with a DSG but will still give reasonable improvements on the older auto box also.
Interesting that the SQ5 has to run a traditional torque converter auto as the twin clutch DSG/s-tronic can't handle the massive torque.

Perhaps the SQ5's greatest strength is its absolute competency at almost everything and the ability to go sub 5 with so little fuss and uproar - I am glad I made the decision. I rarely miss the DSG these days, particularly if caught in traffic and the 8 speed Z box is a pretty smart piece of kit and as soon as it locks up, which is quickly, it's a solid drive line so no real difference.
That said, my wife's R Line Tig with the APR tune for ECU and gearbox is also a delight to drive and in sports mode the handling is impressively tidy - it just likes a drink of the 98 when hoofing around.

I sometimes feel like I'm the only Manual Diesel Tig in AUS with a BSR tune. I'm European and allergic to automatics so I had to look far and wide for a manual. I got the BSR tune about 6 months ago (for some $1000 deal, down from $1300) and I never looked back. My partner said she felt no difference but after I secretly flashed back to stock after a few months she said we should get it to the shop cause it's broken and it runs really slow
). I grew up learning to feel the engine through a manual and the BSR tune to 190HP plus a VAG racing air filter really make a big difference especially after the turbo kicks in. IT also sounds like petrol at high revs now and I constantly kept a eye on fuel and reliability. No issues so far, 163.000km last 30.000 on BSR.

In a Manual I've got sport, comfort and whatever there might be with a DSG all the time. Makes it easier to feel changes. That being said DSG's are awesome compared to automatics and I'll definitely have one soon and set it to manual. It's very hard to find a manual Tig now in Aus.

Honestly, I't makes a massive difference, I don't know if it's 50hp improvement but its more than the other tuners who stop at 170hp. I've been pushing it to the limit the last 30.000km with absolutely no issues. Clean exhaust, clean burning, better mileage. I've even kickstarted in 2nd to get to 100 in about 7secs, the beauty of manual.
