  • Grinding noise when turning

I just recently notice that my front bit of my tiguan makes a grinding noise (sounds like its coming from the suspension area) when turning (parked or moving) and it is more noticeable during warmer weather or been driven for a while. My mechanic told me most likely it is my strut bearing is faulty but just want to be sure of before i pay lots of money to fix something that is not faulty. Anyone has this issue before could shed a light. Thanks

If it is a grinding sound when you're not moving I would think it is likely to be something to do with your power steering pump.

I have noticed a similar sound when turning full-lock in my Tiguan recently. When I scan with the VCSD cable there are no error codes though, but maybe that will only happen if/when the pump fails.

No pump on these, it's all electric. I'd say the strut top bearings are at least worth looking into.
