Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I picked up a black 132 TSI R line last week and am looking at the APR stage 1 tune (will prob do it at the next sale). Does anyone have experience with VW reflashing the ECU back to stock? Will APR reflash it for free, or at a discounted rate? I'd hate to waste $1.5k on something so easily reversed unknowingly by VW.

Most people that get it flash tuned don't go back to the dealer unless they need warranty work done. VW can void your engine/drivetrain warranty if they find out you have had your car tuned.

So if you do get it upgraded, find a good independent workshop that can take care of your service work.

In either case you'll still be covered for non-engine/drivetrain items.

If you do ever have a problem get it flashed back to stock before taking to the dealer and this will reduce the risk of warranty being voided.
