Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The 155 R Line with DSG is a pretty competent beast.

It is heavy though so you will feel a big difference going from the Abarth and the S1.

Hit Sport mode on the suspenders, add the APR Stage 1 and DSG software mods and then find a better word than competent.

              Yup

was thinking "ONLY" to do APR or REVO Stage 1 Map / DSG Mod / CAI. I think that enough power for supermarket duty and pickup/drop off childcare duties, will try to keep the Tig off the track. I will never know what else I will do to the Tig if I take her to track. But wife will not be impressed.

In all reality the 155TSI has more than enough grunt for supermarket duties/school run. It's very competent in stock form though a stage 1 ECU tune and DSG flash will sharpen it up further.

I'm resisting the urge to tune our (non-R-line) 155TSI as I want this to be a long term keeper.

Are these things pre-paid now? Or are you just locking in the price with the dropping exchange rate?

Drop the airbox as it doesn't really do anything.
Try out both the DSG tunes to ensure you get the one you prefer.

my experience with the TSI engines (GTI & Tiguan), a CAI helps with the mid to top end but you loose low rpm torque. fitted the factory air box with aftermarket or factory panel filter, low rpm torque came back (more useful around town).

Locked the price because there will be a price increases due to weak ass Australian coins
