Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Tinting prices for the Tiguan

i sent off a couple of inquiries. For getting the Tiguan I just got this back. Look a bit high. Any got there's done recently. I'm writing in response to your enquiry for your Tiguan. The prices are as follows:

Entry level film - (40% heat rejection): $295

Mid range film - (50% heat rejection): $320

High range premium film - (70% heat rejection): $345

The prices reflect the type of film rather than the darkness of the film. We do not charge extra for darker film.

If you wanted to have a chat about the prices, please feel free to give me a call.

Also keep in mind that we're willing to match our competitors prices on equivalent products and we offer a NATIONWIDE lifetime warranty!

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Kindest Regards,
    Matt Hawkins

It looks about right for a good job with quality materials & warranty. There are places on the radio that advertise "from $200" but you get what you pay for and I reckon you'll be the guy with the weird colour tint that's full of bubbles with those places.

I think $300 would be rock bottom for 70% heat rejection & quality materials / workmanship.

There are several other options in Penriff. Sungard, SolStop, tint-a-car, etc There's also a few near Oxley Park - Clarke's at Colyton, Mild2Wild, Mr Cool, Solartint, St Mary's Car Audio, Pro Tint, etc.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

I ended up calling in. To their premises. And. He looked at my. Car and told me. I can only get the fronts done as I have the privacy glass on the rear. So I've booked it in for Tomorrow. All up $132. To match the back glass

You should get the rear glass done in clear as the privacy glass doesn't stop all UV and isn't very efficient at repelling heat.

It's basically so people still living with their parents can play stinky finger.
