  • Side Steps on a Tiguan

Has any one installed these on their Tiguan

I've only ever installed the genuine ones.

More for looks, than for standing on. Way too flimsy to hold an adult's weight.

They should of been but there was 2 parts missing from the kit Ahook bolt that goes into the mid chassis rail I had to make up some thing , but a 2 hour job turned into a 4 hour job , but i'm please with the result $299 so I can't complain and there is only two brackets and its solid enough to stand on ,

Hey Ian, do you find your steps are too long?, i bought the same ones and the front is pushing on the front mudflap, and the rear of the step runs close to the wheel.
            Cheers

No actually ive got about 40 mil off the back wheels and i'm hard up against the front flaps which doesn't worry me I didn't want to remove the front flaps as i'm trying to reduce the amount of spray the Tiguan throws along the body .

Hey Ian, do they need to come off if you (heaven forbid) get a flat & need to jack the car?

I had side steps on the last SUV we had. Never again. About as useful as pockets in a singlet.

That's the only drawback ,but I have a good scissor jack that does the job easy and fits into the same position as the original jackClick image for larger version

Mine are flexible enough to allow the use normal floor jack when removing the wheels and indeed are very useful when washing the car.
