Air con vents - is there a fix?

I have a 2014 132 TSI and love the engineering, but it's now 6 months old and entering its first Summer and I'm astounded at how poor the positioning of the interior air vents is.

When I test drove the car I thought the design was weird and they seemed too high on the dash, but now I need to use them on 30 degree plus days I find I can't get cold air onto my body. I can only angle the vents to blow right into my face (top vent) and right at my hands (bottom vents). It's ridiculous.

Has anyone thought of a fix (maybe I'm the only one bothered by this?)? Can the bottom vents be altered to tilt lower than their currently limited lowest angle (realising this would likely reduce air flow) so my lower body cools? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Have you tried turning them As they are not just up and down. Twist them to suit

Hmm, sadly yes, tried them every which way. There is just not enough downward angle to get air onto my body.

Holy **** this is pretty much word for word the issue I'm having.

I'm pretty sick of sitting in the stiffling heat (with aircon on Lo) sweating as I drive along.

Meanwhile my eyes are so dry from air blowing on them.

The only thing I have thought of doing is getting some kind of tube fitting (maybe pvc?) that will fit into the aircon vent and angle the flow downwards.

Glad I'm not the only one, I thought I was being pedantic.

This just made my list of things to look for on my next car a little longer!

Dump the hot air out of your car before you get in by pressing and holding unlock on the key fob. Raise the seats to full height, angle the vents to 45 degrees, this gives the best deflection angle to front occupants. Mine is climate controlled so I get to desired temp as quickly as possible by selection windscreen turbo defrost (for both hot and cold conditions) then slow fan speed to prevent blasting effect by selecting full auto. One side vent is angled down the door window to cool radiated heat.
