  • FREE Install on Tiguan LED Taillights for 2012+ Tiguan owner in QLD Sunshine Coast

I am planning to do DIY thread on VW Tiguan LED Talilights install.
We would like to offer a free install for Tiguan LED Taillights for the face lifted Tiguan on the Sunshine Coast
The lights have to be paid for and we would like to ask the owner of the car for a photo shoot at the end.
This is how your Tiggy will look like once the job is finished and the coding completed:

The lights are much cheaper than of the Golf 6 at the moment.

Any questions please contact me on email or ring 07 5479 5599

    A couple of questions:

What is the price on the lights? Is this the same as your website - $799

Can you confirm that these are the OEM parts and not aftermarket? Again I'm assuming it's the part #s on your website - genuine VW Tiguan LED tailights 5N0945207 5N0945208 5N0945308 5N0945307

These Hella tail lights as far as I'm aware are only available in LHD with reverse/fogs on the wrong side for RHD cars. I believe the above part #'s are for the LHD tail light set. How have you gone about correcting this? Are there different colour lenses or have you resoldered correct colour LEDs to fix this?

Hopefully a bit more information will help you get someone interested to get these installed.

These do look nice and if someone had an R-line kit these would set it off nicely.

The lights are $799 and are genuine VW parts, designed for RHD market.
There is nothing tampered or soldered in the lights, brand new set for RHD cars
It would be pretty dumb to be importing LHD sets into RHD country I think.

I wasn't aware that Hella manufactured these LED tails for RHD vehicles.

The only reason I ask the question is that the exact same part numbers are advertised on another website stating they are for a LHD vehicle. Usually you'll have different part #s for LHD and RHD lights.

The issue with a lot of lights advertised on overseas websites is that 95% of them are for LHD cars (both headlights and tail lights). I know a number of the Golf guys have done conversions of LHD tail lights for installation into RHD cars - hence the question (headlights are a lot harder/virtually impossible as you have to change the cut-off of the low beam).

Unfortunately I've got a MY11 (pre-facelift) so these won't fit my car and I'm also interstate - struck out on both counts

If my 2009 is any indication - reverse lamps are on the bumper, not in the tail light cluster, and there is provision for the fog lamp on RHS and LHS, fog lamp fitted to RHS on mine of course. So not a big effort to swap over even if it was a LHD unit.

The lamps look quite crude actually, with individual LEDS visible.
I would have thought some of the Audi/B-series Merc light pipe technology would have bled through by now to give a solid continuous appearance
TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km

OK so I went out and checked and on the 2011 (pre-facelift) the reverse lights are in the bumper. I'm 95% sure this is the same with the 2012+ models as in the photo above with LED tail lights installed it shows reverse lights in the bumper too.

So the only possible issue with these LED tail lights that needs to be resolved is the fog being on the RHS. In fact this may turn out to be a non-issue as if they have LED "globes" on both sides in red it'll be a universal LHD/RHD set-up.

I guess it's a personal preference thing. Given that these are manufactured by Hella as an OEM part it's about as good as you're going to get. These do look 100% better than a lot of the aftermarket tail lights on the market. I'm not sure which countries get these as standard/option but they've never been an option here (at least I'm not aware of them ever being offered).

If these were available for pre-facelift 2008-2011 I'd seriously consider getting a set. I'm a bigger fan of these than the Hella smoked tail lights for pre-facelift - too much bling going on for my liking (sorry team_v).

                  Hey Ramee,
The lights are already on promo as the first ones we had were $999 but now the price has dropped.
We do sponsor a local charity and Bli Bli cable park though - they need it more than anyone with a new Tiguan haha

Ramee, these are also available from a couple of websites in Europe for EUR399 + shipping. Landed cost probably won't be too far off the $799 price from jku. Though if you can get them to take off the VAT this will save $100 or so.

If people need someone to do the installation for them, then buying through jku is a good option as he can arrange installation in most cities - though Sunshine Coast is going to be better as he does it in his own workshop.

Its not really difficult. Remove the existing taillights with the locating bolts at the back,
refit the new ones and you are almost finished.
I dont remember the coding on the them but it will most likely be byte 18 change to R version and you are done.
