  • Paint Peeling on Bumper. Possible Warranty Issue?

I was washing the car today and noticed that the paint in the crevices of the front bumper is peeling out.

The car is second hand and I have about 2 weeks left on the balance of the warranty. Does this look like something that would be covered under the warranty?

I seriously doubt it would be covered under warranty. There's no guarantee that the bumper hasn't been replaced/repainted at some stage. If there's some way to prove that it is the original front bumper then you may have a chance but I think it's a slim one.

I would give it a shot.

My front head lights plastic started showing hairline cracks. They replaced both without question.
They also replaced the rear VW badge as it started to peal / crack.

      Cheers

Yeah as kroogs says probably nothing to lose.

I was planning on doing it this week.

Will report back with the verdict.

It "looks" like a respray job to me but I'll be interested to see what a dealer thinks.

Looking at the photo I get that, but the thing that looks like a bit of cloth fibre is actually a stone impact.

I would have said the same, but knowing spray painters, they wouldn't have gotten the paint out of that crevice, and that's raw bumper underneath.
