  • Bluetooth problems

Hi, we bought a secondhand Tiguan last year and it's got the bluetooth button on the steering wheel, however when following instructions from the owners manual nothing happens (no beep, no search). At first I thought that all Tiguan's had bluetooth and I was missing some step in the process but now I'm thinking maybe bluetooth was an option that the previous owner didn't get - and all cars get the button on the steering wheel.

Could anyone confirm if the button is on the wheel on all cars including those that didn't get bluetooth?

    Many thanks

Yes the button is on all multi-function steering wheels. If you don't have a phone menu in your multi function display (MFD) then it hasn't been installed.

Thanks. Bummer but I'm not paying a fortune for the genuine kit so I'll just get a cheapie.

      Cheers

Depending on what type of steering wheel and MFD (red or white), you have you can get an OEM VW 9W2 BT kit for less than $100! The link below is for a Golf/Jetta but will work in a Tiguan as well.

If you just want the button on your wheel to accept/end calls you should be able to use a basic unit.

If you want more features then you have to make sure the BT is compatible with the colour MFD you have (red or white).
