Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • 2014 build standard Bluetooth module

    Hi everyone,

I'm about to purchase a new Tiguan (118TSI manual) and was wondering about the BT module. Does anyone know which BT module is the standard fitment? I am planning to upgrade it myself to an RNS-510 and was looking at whether I would need to budget for a 9w7 premium BT module too.

(the boot handle reversing camera would be going in at the same time)

    TIA.

MY16 Golf 7R: sold (Caterham Super 7 and Hyundai i30N in its place)

This is really going to depend whether the BT is fitted by the dealer (in which case it could've literally anything) or if it is fitted as an option in the factory.

I don't know what the factory BT functions are but you could tell from the manual what features are meant to be supported by the factory BT.

Otherwise just get it without BT and fit it after with your RNS. That way you know exactly what is getting put on .

Yeah, I did think that but it seems that they all come with factory BT by default complete with steering wheel controls. I am calling in to the dealer tomorrow so I will check with them directly.

Std fitment is a 9w7 premium unit across the Tiguan range
