  • Lift kit for Tiggy?

    Hi there,

Anyone installed lift kit on Tiguan? Is there a specific kit? Is it advisable/not advisable? Not looking to be a monster truck, maybe just a couple of inches.

    Thanks!

A lot of people go with lowering springs but you can also get springs that raise by 20mm. Have a look for H&R lift springs as they do a set of these for the Tiguan.

Any more than that and you'll need new shocks as well. But what you really want is adjustable ride height... Just depending on how much you're going to use it and whether you can justify the expense.

There's some discussion and a number of links in this thread: http://www.vwwatercooled.com/forums/...tml#post495678

There's not a lot to work with on these, as they're already on lifted Golf suspension as it is. Which means very limited adjustablitiy from a wheel alignment point of view.

I have the spacers (lift kit) that I've bought for our Tiguan and never fitted them. They are from jcubed member, you should be able to find his posts. Yours for $220 if you want them. They give 20mm body lift and with 20-30mm bigger dia. tyres, you could have your 2" body lift.

The spacers aren't legal in SA and you need to check the legality in your state.

Thanks, I'm QLD, if you can and you don't mind, can you find out posting cost? It's actually for dad-in-law's Tiguan. He wanted to buy bigger diameter wheels to get some added height but I thought a lift kit would be cheaper. Now question is whether it's legal here in QLD. Have to go sift through QLD website.

Cheers all! Happy Oz day too!

Looks like spacers aren't legal. Might have to go with H&R lift springs. I hear they're a bit hard on the rebound as they're sports focused.

You can only go 26mm larger with wheels as well so will only give you 13mm more clearance, which is hardly worth worrying about.
