Due to the success of the current Tiguan, I can't see them straying too far from the existing model.
What interests me is what Bling will be available, and what they will then have as standard on the AU model -
- LED taillights (previously reserved for Audi)
- LED headlights (xenon is so passe)
- standard SatNav (finally)
- standard bluetooth (how will the dealers make money on extras then?)
- standard lumbar support adjust (gasp!)
- standard keyless entry and kick under tailgate opening
- collision self-braking, active cruise, lane change alert (B class Merc and even Subaru has it)
- crash emergency phone home with fault log sending (as per GM's current setup)
- self park improvements (smart enabled parkhouse?) (unlikely)
- new generation motor and transmissions (doubt it)
- hybrid (possibly but not in AU) plug in range extender or even full electric (flagged for Audi first)
- R line with more than a chromed side mould and painted bumpers (oh, please)

What interests me is what Bling will be available, and what they will then have as standard on the AU model -
- LED taillights (previously reserved for Audi)Not likely - maybe as an option in EU
- LED headlights (xenon is so passe)
- standard SatNav (finally) On Highline models only like Golf
- standard bluetooth (how will the dealers make money on extras then?) Standard Bluetooth highly likely
- standard lumbar support adjust (gasp!)not sure

- collision self-braking, active cruise, lane change alert (B class Merc and even Subaru has it)optional or Highline standard
- crash emergency phone home with fault log sending (as per GM's current setup)not sure if VGA will bring this in.
- self park improvements (smart enabled parkhouse?) (unlikely)optional
- new generation motor and transmissions (doubt it)new EA211 petrol and EA288 diesel engines
- hybrid (possibly but not in AU) plug in range extender or even full electric (flagged for Audi first)all likely over its lifetime
- R line with more than a chromed side mould and painted bumpers (oh, please)possibly now that VGA have experimented with Touareg R Line.
Made for the USA and China in mind the new Tiguan will be more family orientated with more bootspace, LWB & Coupe option going to be offered. Engines should be virtually from Golf 7 range. Taigun and CrossBlue concepts give an idea of VW's SUV styling direction.
More will be known within the next 18 months.
I'd be careful with those pics, as VW have been very active creating concept SUVs lately. Styling is different each time and there is lots of talk about resizing both Tiguan and Toureg to make way for a Polo-based SUV, for instance.

I reckon VW will continue to be a leader on the drivetrain front. So expect stop/start, highly advanced alternative fuel engines and smaller turbo engines in the next Tiggy.
