Ok guys, got some questions around an ongoing hesitation / misfire issue that is not going away with my Bluefin stage 1 tuned Tiguan...... it happens under load around anywhere between 2500rpm and 3500rpm....
I posted some time ago about a misfire issue, as it turns out after a check at VW it was found to be a misfire on cylinder 2 .... the solution in VW's mind was "we changed the coil packs around between cylinders 2 and 3 and the problem went away!"... Anyway I was not convinced and sure enough the hesitation quickly re-surfaced and began to p*ss me off again so I thought no way am I paying $100 per coil plus the additional for plugs so ECS tuning came to the rescue with Audi R8 coils and new plugs delivered for a fraction of the AU price.....
ANYWAY.....did this solve the problem????? NO!!!! So, last night I downloaded the "knock sensor" add-on to torque and I keep getting possible knock warnings around 90 km/h (when hesitation is at it's worst)......
As we know when a potential knock is sensed the ECU will adjust the timing / reduce boost accordingly to avoid engine damage..... could this be the hesitation I am feeling?? I only use 98 RON fuel too so if it's not coil packs and plugs or the ECU adjusting accordingly what else can it be??
Need some help here guys because I'm getting rather p*ssed off with it now and seriously thinking of changing brands.....
