Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MY13 v MY13.5

    Hello

Could anyone point me to where I can find out the difference between these two model years, in particular on the 103TDI?

    Thank you.

the vin number will contain a D or an E, the D is MY 13 the E is MY13.5

this is an example of MY13.5

Thanks for that. Would you know what the difference is in the spec's? Is one the "Pacific" version and the other not? Cheers.

If you have a look on redbook there isn't any differences listed in specs:

        MY13.5: 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan 103TDI Pacific 5N (Feb)

        MY13: 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan 103TDI 5N (Aug)

You can also do a side-by side comparison and the specs and options are identical between the 2 models.

However I'd suggest going and talking to the dealer as there may be some subtle differences i.e. that the MY13.5 will actually have a 2013 build date (not 2012 as per MY13??? WTF?).

Car year models are much like magazines - they are released well before the month/year that they are actually designated.

MY 13 can be built in 2013 I have ordered a TDI and its coming as MY 13 with a D code (built May 2013) VIN the dealer said they did not have any E code cars coming, at the end of the day the only difference between these 2 is the depreciation the MY 13 will depreciate slightly more straight away because glasses guide and red book are what dealers use to set car prices in Australia.
