Oh! You know me well then hahaha .. But I felt I may need adjustable end links for stiffer setting. But not sure? Do you have them?

No I only have adjustable end links on the front - due to the front sway bar fitment issues with the old design bar.

There's no need for adjustable links on the rear.

Ok, thanks Tigger, I may try that tomorrow still I am happy with the current setting.

        • When you go full stiff, keep in mind who might be driving the car as some vehicles can get a bit tail-happy, especially in the wet.

It's not a bad idea if you go full-stiff to get out on a wet day and go around a full sweeper or a cloverleaf with ESP off & doing about 7/10ths & accelerating & back off the throttle suddenly to see if you get snap-oversteer.

On my Liberty on full-stiff it was fairly easy to invoke oversteer when I had it on full-stiff. You didn't get caught out if you were concentrating but it would catch you if your mind was elsewhere or if somebody was driving that wasn't aware of the handling charateristics. The mid-setting was totally forgiving & the ride was nicer as well as the firmer the setting, the more "coupled" you are making the independant suspension - which kind-of defeats the purpose of IRS.

Yes I will keep the sway bar in current setting ( mid stiffness ) as I am quite happy with it. Still when I go over road humps ( speed breakers) if only one rear wheel goes over the bump I clearly feel the hardness of the sway bar compared to stock one. Stock sway bar is fairly forgiving and allow for more wheel articulation to absorb the impact, while with WLSB one it feels bit rough and a vibration.

                • I've found some of these "traffic calming devices" can turn a boring side streets into a slalom course I'm sure it's not how the original designers intended but it can be a bit of fun.

Also regarding some speed hump designs you can (if you get it right) take them at reasonable speed if you get the weight transfer happening in your car right and can actually be smoother than slowing right down.... I mean what is your suspension for right???

Yeah! One of my mates who hate big SUVs (including mine even though it is not big) asked me why these so called SUVs always go very slowly on speed bumps, aren't they supposed to go off-road and can not even handle a small road hump at reasonable speed?? haha

                    • Quick update My WL sway bar started to make a annoying grinding noise after installation. After some inspection I could not figure out what was wrong except when I remove the end link connections sound stopped. It was also clear WL sway bar is not 100% perfect in assembly as one mounting bracket need to mount little bit higher to stop pre loading the bar.

I remounted the sway bar again with stiffest setting this time with end link connected first and then bolting down two mounting brackets. They placed little bit offset to each other (not parallel) but now grinding noise seems to be gone.

                      • The bar has a warranty. take it back for replacement as it shouldn't do that

I think I finally figured out the culprit. End link bolts need to tighten down like crazy to avoid that noise, First I thought I did over tight them but later found a DIY for coilovers which gives torque specs for end link bolts of 60Nm Any way I tight them as far as I can (did not have a torque wrench with 60Nm range) and noise seems to go way for now. But I think better tight them again with a proper torque wrench.

I had that exact same issue a few months back with my golf, took me ages to find it

                            • Later I tried to re tight the sway bar end link bolts and the result of applying 60 Nm torque is..

So as a temporary solution this was used. Two 10mm bolts from bunnings cut to proper length with SS washers. 60Nm? I will give them 100Nm .. lol

Definitely these sway bars need adjustable end links for stop pre loading. ( at least my one) Also put them back again in medium stiff setting because handling is bit unpredictable with high stiff setting. These will stay there until I get front sway bar installed.
