  • Exhaust Options

    Ok,

So I've recently acquired a 155 Tiguan and I can't help but notice how wussy the exhaust sounds. I know it's not a performance car but I like to have a bit more noise and I would love if that DSG parp/fart was a little more obvious.

I'm not particularly after any power gains, just a bit more / better sounding noise, but I don't want anything that drones while crusing. Perhaps the same noise levels as a MK6 GTI or slightly raspier.

I've been reading through some threads and there's a lot on people attempting/installing full systems but I'm wondering if I only want a slightly better noise then would I have to go down the full system route?

I don't have any experience when it comes to exhausts and what parts need changing to make it sound better etc. Does anyone have any recommendations, workshops etc. ? I am in WA so my options are much more limited than the rest of AUS.

    Cheers.

replace your rear muffler with a sports one, sounds better cheap option approx $160 ( in Brisbane)...did my Jetta last month!
    Current - 2015 Tiguan 155 R-Line.

More power = downpipe + associated tune.

More noise = catback exhaust or sports rear muffler or resonator delete.

If you wanted to keep everything "stock" you could always install a Soundaktor which is what the newer GTI's and Sciroccos have in them.

Not sure what other wiring is required but this may give you the result you're after without voiding too much of your warranty.

On the other hand my warranty is shot to bits anyway so I'm just about to replace my exhaust.

I'll let you know how it goes - post a clip or 2 once complete. I'm looking for some more DSG farts also

That would be great. Very interested to see how it goes.

I am interested with more sound as well!

@ team_v: any recommendation for catback or rear sport muffler I should go for?

I've got a Viezu cat-back system coming... fingers crossed this month.

I believe there should be a few available in the first shipment - hopefully Simon @ Viezu will let us all know when they land.
