New to the forum, and hopefully upcoming new to VW ownership,

Just wanted to ask, has anyone heard of VW either discontinuing, or VW Australia not bringing in, Manual Tiguans?

I'm in the market for a manual 103tdi, and a couple of dealers have stated this to be happening, but I do smell a rat!

Spoke to VW Australia, and they stated still bringing in, but has anyone heard otherwise.

I believe the dealers throwing a furfy to get me to sign on the dotted line....

    Cheers Richie
I have a manual 103TDi .. March 2012 built, delivered to Aust. in April 2012, picked up by me at the end of May.

Most Tiguans sold in Germany, be they TDI or TSI are manual, very few are automatic.

The thing is that the vehicles have to be imported and so it all depends on what the majority of buyers want. If that is DSG/auto, then manuals will sit in holding yards and eventually be sold of cheap or returned. Both cost money.

I know this is with colours. When I bought my MY11 Caddy Maxi Life, there were large numbers of 2010 and even 2009 models I could have picked from. They had guessed what the market might want and guessed wrong.

When I bought mine I was told I had to wait for it to be imported, due to most people in EU & here preferring to buy the auto.
No manual tiggys sitting around dealers here unfortunately.. I was even prepared to let them give me whatever colour I wanted, but nup, had to wait.
